That thing's sweet. Flem should take out a loan and sell his three discoveries.

I had to google what movie it was that I remembered seeing a yellow D90 in... She's All That.

Ahh...you could have done that as of January 1 of THIS year. When you start finding '84 90s and 110s for $1,500 delivered to Galveston let me know - I'll take ten of them.

wallenes willemson or something like was $1500 England to Galveston

    I'm not counting purchase price

no nineties until 84, there have been quite a few people willing to sit on them until jan 1st on ebay.co.uk

I'm not knocking your price Kevin, I'm talking about a ROW ****box and not a NAS 90

$1,500 for shipping...I thought you meant you were finding '84s for that much. No, no 90s till '84 - I guess most people out there are more excited about importing a 110 (the '83s have been coming all year) rather than a 90.

I didn't think you were knocking the price. NAS Defenders will always command a premium over gray market trucks. Different strokes for different folks. I'm sure I'll buy another within a year or two. I'll probably go for a cheap import next time around.

i dunno why everyone s looking for land rovers in the UK. (i know they are prevalent over there...like chevy's)
    1. they are going to be rust buckets...i read somewhere in a mag that the avg life for a car over there is around 8 yrs b/c it just starts falling apart from rust. Aluminum and steel makes it that much worse. I guess that's why the MOT's are so strict.
    2. they are all RHD. I sure as hell wouldn't want one like that. I know you can convert but why? Say your LR actually had enough balls to pass a 1988 VW van, Have you ever thought how much it would suck to pass on a two lane road. I guess you have to have a passenger to pull it off.

South America is the place to look! I have connections down south! And it's probably cheaper to ship...just smuggle it in in a load of soy beans. call me for a quote!

I think for the most part people are importing right now from the UK for two reasons - 1 - '83s and '84s are hard to come by and there are more in the UK than anywhere else so as time goes by it will be easier to source them from countries with better climates and LHD and - 2 - People in the UK sort of speak English. France, Germany and The Netherlands are also easy places to find Defenders which are LHD and less destroyed by climate. Central and South America will be the best but no one I know of so far has connections to find the trucks - much less broker the shipping back to Galveston.

It really matters not to me whether mine would be LHD or RHD. It wouldn't be a daily driver so I don't care. I would prefer one that's not a rust bucket though. Some of these ones coming from the UK so far have already had new frames, bulkheads and modern Tdi engines installed as well. They're not cheap however.
