Made good progress tonight. Entire front clip is removed. Doors are off. The Bronco is now completely convertible. Pulled front and rear driveshaft and removed (torched) the tranny cross member. I also pulled the pedal assembly out. It was not fun....

Tomorrow I will unbolt the tranny and t-case, then I need to find some way to cut the 6 cylinder out of it and make it land on the trailer.... Then I will remove the front TTB shafts and hubs. Chop the rest up.

Found a guy who will give me 50 bones for the 8.8. Frick is giving me 50 for the tires. I will sell the shafts and then I should break even and have a free clutch pedal setup, tranny, and t-case, less my time...

Oh Hot Pocket, I was easy on the driver's side front fender, I'll bring it to CS on 2-21-09, that means the 21st day of February during the year 2009, not this weekend.....

John Brown, I have one "head light door" for ya. The other has the tabs ripped off.

A large thanks goes to Mike. He came over and helped me wrap this thing up today. We got the tranny out. Next we removed the engine, turns out Mike and I can pretty well lift up a Ford straight 6, it is much lighter than a 302. The rear of a bronco is supprisingly light and for any of you who have hopes that in a roll over the roof will save you, you are screwed, it is all sheet metal there is nothing structural in it..... Mike took the front apart while I removed the rear. Tag team just like that night in Panama with that hooker, Mike in front, me in back!

I will rag on Mike for being a joo, he removed just about every phillips screw on the thing and kept them. When I questioned him he said "They're good screws" He also knew which screws on a Bronco could easily be removed and which could not.

I am supposed to meet the guy tomorrow to buy the 8.8

Turns out a 1984 Bronco, less rear axle, tranny, t-case, tires, and glass plus a few various things Frick had weighs 3,250 lbs. This would convert to $131.20 in terms of todays scrap prices....

    Recap:
    Original investment - $200
Fuel to pick it up and finally take it to the crap yard - $30

    Total investment - $230

    Sold Rear 8.8 - $50
    Sold tires - $50
    Scrap - $131.20

So far the total is 231.20 or 1.20 positive. I have guy looking at the steering column for $40 plus I have the drive shafts and front axle shafts. And I get my NP435 tranny, clutch, etc... for free....

Shall we update the list or maybe make some predictions?

    Candidates:

    My bronco
    sparling's f-150
    John Brown's bronco
    Cook's truck
    Eckert's truck
    Travis' bronco......actually, too late

Maybe we destroy these trucks the most because they are the most used?

you can't destroy my f-150. maybe blow another tranny, but not the whole truck. it will always come back.

I think it has more to do with the class of person that tends to prefer fords. What's the ratio of destroyed by fabbing to destroyed by wheeling? 10:1?

The Klogger came from essentially the junk yard, so it is like poop going back into the butt hole.

I think the new one is good. It shifts pretty solid and doesn't slip. I just need to keep it cool. Probably put a temp gauge on it or something to keep an eye on it. The old one had 180k on it and slipped bad before i ever took it offroading and then I probably overheated the trans fluid and messed everything up.
