    Huge difference in the contrast and colors, that has nothing to do with talent, just $$. Discouraging for hobbyists on a budget. I always wondered why my pics were not as good as I thought they should be. They just didn't pop like others. Now I know. Open up the checkbook and you're halfway there. ~dso
    Yeah, Lenses make a huge difference on clarity and sharpness. You definitely have to have an eye for setting the scene as well. But I disagree with the rest. Scott's $100 camera can get some vivid colors as well. Knowing how to use your camera manual and adjust your settings (getting a well exposed photo) can double your contrast and vividness of a photo. You can't get that in any auto mode, even on a nice SLR with a $1,000 lens. And taking a hundred photos for one good one sucks

    PS....when are you going to let me take photos of your kids! I'm building my portfolio! haha
