Wiring for a jeep with an external voltage regulator?

First of, let me say how much I hate Kevin, this is the second question I have had to ask on TAMOR about a jeep. God I hate jeeps, almost as much as I hate Kevin.

Here is the background, I have been helping the Frick re-wire his newest "creation". Started it up last night and the alternator is charging with like 16.5 volts I looked at the voltage regulator, it is external (i.e. not in the alternator). It has a plug for 4 wires, the spaces are labeled "F" "S" "A" and "I". There are only 3 wires remaining in the plug and only one of those is hooked up....

Kevin has a Haynes manual which have found extremely usefull.... to use as a coaster....

Does anyone know where these 4 wires should be hooked to? From what I read in the coaster (Haynes Manual) this jeep has a motorcraft alternator in it. Kevin is calling the jeep a 1976. Anyone got some info on this?

For anyone about to post "buy a one wire alternator" here is an early for you.

my diagram is a little different..

the yellow wire goes to that other post on the starter solenoid

black goes to a splice that ends up being red w/ tr (not sure what color the tr is) that goes through the wiring bulkhead on the firewall and all the way to a fuse labeled 13b on my diagram. its at the top of the block and its diagonal.

green goes to the field post on the alternator

it only shows 3 wires coming out of the voltage regulator. This is from the AMC 1976 factory service manual and the diagram I'm reading says cherokee, wagoneer, truck

I can scan it if you need it, but hooking up my scanner is more than I want to accomplish today.

I suggest you have Frick call 800-699-5337 x230. Should get him fixed right up.
