yj d30 seal question
does anyone know what the ID of the axle tube on the long side is? it doesn't have a shaft in it right now, and i'm goin to take the diconnect shiat off and put the tj shaft in, just need to know what size seal to buy
-
get a seal for the passenger side of the diff for a TJ. That way none of the fluid goes into the axle tube and you don't have to mess with that stupid seal on the outside of the disconnect.

yea, thats what i was lookin for, i'll get some of those plastic things to stick in the ends to keep mud and what not outta the tubes, but i found the part number on POR, if anyone wants it for reference its a National Seal #710068

Will the TJ shaft just go in a YJ axle? All TJs have the 297x, right?

No progress...

ok, so the 710068 ain't right, does anyone happen to know what seal it uses, or how about the exact ID of the YJ axle tube?
-
well after about 15 min with the dremel tool, i was able to put the seal i found in there, the national part number is 471354, the stock seal ID is 1.192" and the one 471354 ID is 1.187", the guys at Pruvis Bearing told me the 0.005" wouldn't hurt anything, it is a double lipped seal with the spring to keep it tight, the OD is 2.066", but i'll let ya know how it works after a little drivin on it
