    1) The license plate covers the valence when not in use, so you can not see it
    2) I don't live in Beaumont any more, I live in Crosby get it right. I changed jobs and thereby changed where I lived. Kind of like after I graduated, I left College Station, instead of being the odd ginger kid who sat in the corner....

Karl, that bad smell that you can never get to wash off yourself, is Beaumont. If you have to remove the license plate to install the mount, how much harder is it to reach under the valence to insert the pin? On another note, this is exactly what I was going to do on my truck before Baja but ran out of time.

Why not just make a slip in mount for the license plate? Then it's just pulling a pin. (this is probably what you planned on doing, just airing the thoughts in my brain out, gets kinda musty in there at times.)

Apparently I was not clear in my explanation, the license plate mount is attached to a reciever hitch thing, so it just pulls out. If you are lieing on the ground looking under my truck with the license plate in place, you can see the valence cut, but at that point, I would most likely be running you over and your thoughts are not important....

John, When you wake up in the middle of the night sometimes you are hungry, you go to your kitchen to eat, but no matter how much or what you eat you are never satisfied. That hunger is not for food, it is for human souls, you GINGER FREAK!

I just have to accept the fact that this is what happens when you give nice things to people like Karl. Just look at your average trailer park, at one time all those trailers and cars were new and clean looking. Just wait until 12K lbs is applied to a hitch once rated (before hack job) for 5k lbs. This will be Klogger II in no time!

It was rated for 9k, and I increased the bolts by 50%

Does anyone make a spring loaded receiver pin that you could mount and then have a pull handle hidden in the grill?

Hmm, may have to get one made up. I bet those would sell like hotcakes if you could figure out a way to make it lockable!
