    Emma

Well it is time for a new project. The goal of this rig is to be the "family" rig with good back seat and such for kids.

    Current specs:
    2001 Ford Explorer Sprort
    109K miles
    103" Wheel Base
    68" Tall
    15' Long
    68" Wide
    235 tire ~28"
    and 2wd

    Plans:
Transmission Tailhouse conversion (5R55W 2wd and 4wd are same besides the tailhouse part)
    STAKK 3speed
Axles will either be Bronco's current 60/10.25 or old 44/9" that Nix has now. I'd like the 44/9" but that is limited to when he does his conversion to 1-ton and I want to do this sooner than later.

Tires will be 35-37" with the 44/9" combo
or 39.5" that I already have with 60/10.25 combo

I want to keep this think 80-82" tall so it fits in the garage good

So at 68" tall I have 14" to play with.

I figure 6" lift from the 39.5"s so that puts me to 8" of lift

It will be leafsprung in the back. and coil up front.

I may do leaf-springs up front but that would require the spring hangers on the bumper because the frame is 28.5" to 32" wide up front... it will depend on which axle combo I go with also.

This is just the planning stages but I will be getting parts together soon also.

this isnt a very hard build... the only thing i might have trouble with is the transmission conversion and I am going to have a shop do that so it shouldn't be much of an issue.

I think "Who's" was actually correct...isn't it? Contraction for "Who is," whereas "whose" is posessive, e.g. "Emma the Explorer, whose name should probably have been Dora, is probably wondering who's going to buy her worthless carcass and pile of parts when Tate gives up on her"

I have wondered why more people don't build these things. You basically get 1/2 ton drivetrain with them.

Yes, they are heavier than something like an XJ, but you do get a real frame to work with. Just how heavy is a 2-door? You keeping the glass in it?
