Red 81 CJ5, 35's, 4.10 and detroit, 4 to 1 dana 300, tbi efi, flat belly, cage, chromos and auzzie in front... sometimes runs. body damage to come
I don't like this Rockwell idea. I think you should make this this a cruiser, ala, Less Nasty.
1) TBI, fix leaks, make drivetrain respectable.
2) Proper tire/lift. The truck looks too high for 35s. How much lift are you running? If 4", plus those nasty cut fenders, then it needs 37s. If it is 6", then you need 39-40" Sell those mud grapplers and buy something good. Level it out. Isn't it a little taller in the rear?
3)Keep 44/9". Or swap in a 10.25" and find some used 8 lug outers for the 44.
4)Remove that super ****ing gay prerunner bar and throw it in the trash.
5)Find a DD.

Come get this one, then you can have one for the street and one for the trails.
'91 Bronco 351w, ZF5, D44 TTB, 9" rear swap with disk brakes, 37" toyos, method wheels, mastercraft seats, A/C and heat
I looked at it a little today. Looks like you only cut the rear fenders? Can a 78/79 clear 37s with only 4"? I bet it could up front with minimal trimming, and it would fill out the rear fenderwell better.
You can do wontons, just more $$.
I thought the prerunner thing was just a bar. It is less gay then I thought but there is really nothing prerunner about a 79 Ford. I would just use that base you have and mount a winch on it, maybe run some tube out to the side to protect the grill.

Something to consider, as long as you do not lock the front and you are not an arse, you can run 38's pretty safely in a D44. 38's are pretty big, granted a front locker makes a huge difference, but you can have a lot of fun with a locked 9" or sterling and open front for little cash.
