    22RE truck

I'm looking for a 1986-94? 22re 4 cyl, 5 speed truck 2 or 4wd ext. cab or regular, or 86-89 22re 4 cyl, 5 speed 4runner. I am trying to find one of two things. I would like to find one that needs an engine (I have a rebuilt 22re to put in it) and some other minor work for cheap, $1k-ish or less. The other option is to find one that has been garaged and wiped down with a diaper in the $3k range. (OK, maybe just decent paint/interior and mechanically in good shape.) Let me know what you guys see. I was thinking about something that could tow the boat, but I think I will just get something like this for the mileage right now. I'm going to try to get the Belle in condition to tow the boat across town, think that would be a clusterfawk of epic proportions!

    Thunderbird will do just fine.

Did you see the one for $1950 I posted in the good deals thread? It looked pretty nice.

maybe I'll check and see if it's still around. The pictures alone make me think it's crap, sideways pictures at night and no interior shots. I guess it is fairly cheap.

I don't know what it is about the sideways pictures. I've seen many people using them. Maybe they think it adds a bit of artistry to the ad.

I wanted to check out the build, but can't find it. I even joined, as BMFScout of course, so I could search, but no go. I don't think I want that truck anyway, but would at least like to check his build out.

Are you looking for an off-road rig or a driver? I bet that a 25 yr old toyota build will be more reliable than a freshly modified truck. What do you think?

I don't know the guy, I have just seen him post but here his slight build up on Expedition Portal. I also know the guy took it on a long trip across mexico or something so it has to be semi reliable...

I'm looking for something to drive everyday. If we are leaving the DFW area though, we'd be in the Honda anyway. I'm trying to get something that isn't boring, but also cheap. Finding another scout had crossed my mind, just figured I'd get better mileage in a toyota. I'm not in a hurry, going to sell Melanie's Dodge and can drive Old Yeller for awhile if I need to. Will probably end up in a boring 2wd toyota pickup, but thought I could entertain ideas. The goal is something cheap, thinking I should be getting a better job soon, but still need to save some money.
