Wheeler Lake is not in the bannana belt, and will be under a decent amount of snow at that time. I would suggest a later date if you want to run more trails.

Just a tidbit from their CoCLook at how little snow is up there. It's been a disappointing winter ... We need more snow!

I am going to be out of town the weekend of the 12th/13th, but I have Friday the 4th off. Creighton and I were thinking that Holy Cross would be fun that weekend. I could pick people up in Denver Friday morning and drive to the Rangely off road park for some stupid human/truck tricks Friday evening/Saturday, then saturday afternoon we could work our way over to Holy Cross (just west of Vail Pass) and run that Sunday. Creighton and I would then head home and you guys would head over to Frisco, catch Hwy 9 through breckenridge and meet up with 285 in Fairplay, then head on down to Buena Vista.
You guys should really do Holy Cross if you can make the logistics work. It is stupid fun. It is the embodiment of an awesome trail by any definition.
And yes it's been a rough year for snow. That area got like 2 decent storms this year.
I like erics plan I think that everyone would really enjoy rangely
