    Long Term Jeep Storage

I'm going to be putting the cj into storage for about 13 months. I will be renting a storage unit around here (B/CS area). If anyone has any ideas on how to properly preserve it while it is in storage please chime in and let me know if I am forgetting anything.

    -Clean interior
    -Wash/Wax exterior paint
-Fill gas tank and add fuel stabilizer
    -Remove battery
-Condition vinyl seats and cover with seat covers
    -Place jeep on jack stands
-Check quality of anti-freeze and adjust
    -Replace engine oil and filter
    -Condition tires
-Remove spark plugs and spray some kind of fogging oil (recommendations?), re-install plugs
-Check all fluid levels (diffs, trans, t-case, steering, brakes, clutch)
-Place moisture absorbing packets (silica product) around engine compartment and interior
-Rat poison (necessary in a storage lot?)
    -Any other recommendations?

    1) Go to 47 this weekend and roll that ho
    2) Sell to insurance company
    3) Store money in bank. Free storage!

I would winterize the motor like you would a boat motor. Even with fuel stabilizer you are probably have to drain the tank when you get home. gas doesn't keep for very long anymore even with stabalizer

Find out about the insurance for the lot, or make sure your insurance will cover theft/vandalism.

What do you plan on doing w/ the battery once you remove it?

Indoor or outdoor storage lot? Either way, rat poison would be a smart move me thinks.

I think homeowners insurance should protect it while it there, but I will def. check.

Throw away the battery and get a new one when I come back.
