I'm like DaVinci. I come up with lots of cool ****, then get bored and wander off without ever making progress past the design stage.

this needs to be in the random tech questions thread unless you're at least putting a junkyard 4.0 in it.

    ok, well, maybe

We know that he never married or had a romantic relationship with a woman and that he lived with a male artist, Gian Giacomo Caprotti da Oreno, nicknamed Salai or Il Salaino, for 30 years. Salai had a reputation for being tremendously homosexual and is described lovingly by Da Vinci as a scoundrel and a peacock. Da Vinci's other strong relationship was with Count Francesco Melzi of Milanese royalty. Melzi studied beneath Da Vinci and was said to be his favorite student as Melzi stayed with Da Vinci for 14 years and inherited Da Vinci's paintings and works upon his death.

Somehow I figured something like that would turn up.

Motor swaps/upgrades are way too common on these jeeps to put 1000 plus into a 2.5. If you want to do the 4 banger, put a used one in.

Also, talk your dad into getting a new DD. An expo would be perfect to pull the jeep, the rx7, and much better as a DD.

I agree with you completely. Your the only one to offer logical alternatives, that meet my demands. He is just a financially conservative guy. I really just want to put a junkyard motor in, he really just wants me to graduate with out wasting any more time on cars...

I wouldn't mind DDing the Expedition either, its in mostly great shape, has the 5.4, tow package, airbags, etc. He is very specific about not having more than one car payment, etc. I wouldn't be surprised that he buys a new car in about a year and lets me drive it, if the transmission dosent go out. (It is shifting hard, and kinda slipping).

Everyone else stop cluttering up my thread with redundant bull-****. If anyone else wants to comment on what motor I should get, feel free to buy it for me.

I wouldn't mind DDing the Expedition either, but it gets all of 13mpg city/16 highway. He is very specific about not having more than one car payment, etc. I wouldn't be surprised that he buys a new car in about a year and lets me drive it, if the transmission dosent go out. putting another 2.5 is redundant bull****

and I don't see putting a $1100 2.5 in your as being financially conservative. With 33's wouldn't the 4.0 negate the need for new gears?

It still wouldn't be ideal with stock gears and I would still need to put in new axles anyways.

It will get me a running Jeep with a warranty by the end next week. Something none of the other options give me...
