Nevermind, I just used google, and the internets says that the 1354 and 1356 have different spline counts everywhere so I can't use anything off of it.

Why does JB have a 1354? Are you sure it is not a 1356? I do not think they ever put the 1354 in a full size.

    I didn't think they did either, I thought the 1354 was a ranger/bronco 2 case

If it turns out to be a 1356 I'll come pick it up so I can have more manual shift parts.

I thought a 13-45 was disappearing a dead hooker from Ben Affleck's trailer?

    From the interweb:

My '88 has a 1345, I pulled a 1345 out of an '89 in the junkyard. From my research, the 1345 and 1356 ran together concurrently for a few years (about 86-90)...like the 9" and 8.8" rearends did when Ford was changing from one to the other. The 1345 looks a lot like the 1356, but doesn't have the removable tailshaft section. It's also made out of aluminum and not magnesium. I can take a photo of the 1345 if anyone needs it.
Also a 1345 should have 1345 stamped in it. It seems for the most part Ford put the 1345 in 3/4 or 1 tons. However apparently the summer intern was working the assembly line one day and slipped a few in Broncos and F-150's when no one was looking....

I looked thru JB's build thread, it is a 1345, here is a website:

And here is a picture of JB's case

I cleaned it off enough to see "13-45xxxxxxxxx" about 6" right of the fill plug you see in the pic.

It has actually never given me an issue. Great little case.
