Anyone got a cheap cobra cb? I had one and the amp went out on it, but ive still got the rest of the set up, all i need is the damn cb. Anyone got one of those cheap walmart black ones that they would be willing to part with?

I dont need a cb anymore, but i need technical help. I replaced my old cb unit with one i just picked up from walmart (same as old model), and it still wont work properly. The power is sound, and so is the ground (to the negative on the battery) and i cant think of anything wrong with the coax or antenna. But whenever i turn the damn thing on at full volume, i barely get any noise coming out of the speaker, which is the same problem that i had with the old one. Any suggestions?
Have you turned the squelch? Which model # is it?

No idea if this is your problem, but on my cobra when i mounted the antenna the first time I put that plastic washer on the wrong side of the mount. It let me broadcast out fine but i couldnt hear **** coming in. Flipped it to the other side and no problem since.
not sure if that's my problem, but my cb had been working fine for a good 2 years, then it started acting up
figured out my problem, all i had to do was replace my microphone (it completes the circuit)
