    Tire Talk

So you want to spend $100-200 on ghetto wheel spacers instead of finding nicer, year appropriate, lariat wheels with proper backspacing? Confused.

Spacers aren't ghetto unless you use ****ty parts. Ford used them from the factory on DRW trucks, and they are even over 5" spacers. 2" spacers are fine, especially on a truck like Tommy's. Not everyone thinks the old 16" wheels are nicer. A lot of people think that a slightly larger wheel looks better and you have better tire options as well on a 17 vs a 16. It would also make sense to use newer wheels if Tommy did an 05 conversion.

Just got 60k out of a set of Toyo A/T 2s. They were not to the wear bars, but pretty close. Alot of highway, towing, stop and go, offroad, driving like an asshole. These were my first set of Toyos and they were a great all around tire.

I went with a set of Cooper S/T Maxxs this time as the Toyos were a week out for some reason. They are a little bit more aggressive than the Toyo A/T 2s. I have only had them for about 1000 miles, but with this recent RARE rain in SA, they are noticable better on wet pavement than the Toyos They were also a couple of hundrded cheaper. Not sure I will get the mileage I got out of the Toyos, but we'll see. Size is 295/70/18.

Jeremiah just got a 13 F350 and put similiar sized Nitto ATs on. We drive the same and pull the same trailers, so we can see which ones last the longest.

New KO2s come out soon. I have always run BFGs. Great tires, but they did not have a size I wanted in 18"

My Nittos didn't last. I dropped down to a small tire again because I wanted BFGs again. I really like the KO2s. I wanted to wait on them to come out but that didn't work out so well for me.
