I think for a vehicle which requires a stub shaft to drive, a $65 stub shaft is good insurance. $200 in fluids and tools makes you almost completely self sufficinent.

you know you can pull just the inner, leave the stub in the unit bearing stuff a rag in the axle tube and drive for a couple of weeks without any problems
also $300 for a set of shafts is pretty cheap,

yeah its 300 for just the driver side, ill have to shell out another 300 for the passenger side soon. Im going with superior discovery axle shafts. should do the trick.
make sure you put good ujoints in there, it would be a waste to get alloy shafts and run stock u-joints
