I have 37s on mine. Ive talked to a lot of people about breaking shafts and it came down to this, the guys that looked like they would break shafts end up breaking hubs and shafts even when upgraded,, the other guys that are more calm have told me they have wheeled for years on stock parts and large tires. I took mine to clayton and bought two spare birfs from Fjaggie and never used them. Just broke my aluminum blocks. I see guys breaking hubs more than anything else on the toyotas and thats why the factory hubs are going up in price all over if you can even find them, the best way I found is just buy IFS hubs from ebay or guys that are throwing them out for cheap ($20) and then buy the $60 chromoly hub gear from marlin crawler (I think) and that converts the IFS hub to a chromoly solid axle hub. Thats how my spares are sitting right now but I dont want to put them in because I want to keep the hub the weakest link..

Put on the 33s and weld the rear. What's the height difference between the 33s and 35s? The 37s may be taller but MTRs suck, you like TSLs, TSLs kick ass. I bet that worn 33 TSL will out do the 37 MTR in loose stuff. Sell the 37s and use funds to purchase some of those cheap ass T-case gears available for these things.

I would like to think that I could help on this but I have no clue honestly. I had my Tacoma with 37's snap shafts all the time (3 in a year) while my buggy on 39" stickies hasn't snapped one yet. All of the shafts were upgraded aftermarket stuff too. The front end was/is locked in both as well. I think the main difference is weight and power. The Tacoma was so much heavier and the v6 had so much more guts then the 22re in the buggy it just added to the stress. So hopefully my ramblings have helped in some small way.

I vote run the 33's. I have not been impressed with MTR's in mud. If you aren't happy with them, try the 37's later.

You know my opinion 33's welded front and rear. This thing doesn't have gears so 37's are pushing it. Plus you know that the tsl's will work better in the mud and sand than the mtr. The only thing and mtr sucks worse than in the mud is an irok.

Tire problem solved, I will be selling the 37's for $400, and the 33's for $250, all of them come with rims.

My solution, I present the 35-10.50 bogger

In true DSO fashion. Now if you can just get that front drive shaft to stay on!
