My passenger backed out last weekend so I'm going to head out there Saturday or Sunday if anyone is interested.
30 minutes in...
It gets better. Winch controls in the xterra plus after screwing around for a while the battery's dead.. The jumper cables are also in the xterra. We are not off to a good start.
With the help of two guys on a side by side I finally got the jeep unstuck and back on the trailer.
We spent about three hours screwing with it trying to get it out. Ended up the battery was fine. The starter solenoid didnt like being under water. Once we got the jeep started I winched out of the hole. Then it got fun. The front passenger tire was flat and caked solid with mud. The power steering belt was screeching like crazy. It had twisted some so I fixed it and tightened it. About 100 foot down the trail the belt came off and got ate by the fan plus took off the water pump/ alternator belt. Once we got the water pump/ alt belt back on we were finally able to limp back to camp (flat tire and no power steering sucks). Somewhere in the middle of all that I cut the crap out of my foot while wading in the mud to beat on the starter.
Sucked at the time but now that I'm home it makes for a good story.
And that sticky mud was a bitch to wash off.
thats alot of mud
