    Newb Rig

I am looking for a newbie rig. $2000 budget and the buyer absolutely wants a manual trans. Other than that he is open to anything. It must be street legal/registered or easily made so. Let me know if you stumble across anything.

We have narrowed it down to a 1986-1996 bronco, 4 runner, or series 1 discovery. Find me something!

Random Bronco criteria unless you are looking for EFI. Body styles are 80-86, 87-91, 92-96, but you could get an EFI 302 in 86 (maybe some late 85s)

I would go 85-89 4Runner, but Mexico has taken alot of the inventory here in Texas

I have a 95 4Runner 3.0 4x4 5 speed I am trying to sell. My plan is to post it for 3500 in SATX. I have a bottom dollar in mind, but with the number of ****ty old Yotas I see being towed down 37 and 35, I think I might get close to that.

PM if your are interested and I will find some pics.

The '96 Bronco with 302 is the only Bronco to come stock with mass air, all the rest are speed density. Unfortunately this also makes it OBD2 and if I recollect it has rear anti-lock brakes. That beinc said, Broncos drive like ****. However a 4 runner, while it drives nice, assuming it is an IFS is more money to lift, where as with the Bronco you get TTB, I think you know my thoughts on the best axle ever made.

86 was the year split... made finding various parts for mine a bitch... master cylinder is same part number for EFI and carb, but very different parts...

    I have a feeling I shouldn't be thinking this is a good idea. . .

    http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/3094654863.html

Do I really want to mess with a carb? Would it be a ttb-44 and 8.8? or d-44 and 9". I really think I/he would prefer a 90s bronco with fuel injection but I am tempted to throw some money at this guy and see if he bites. It is a bit out of the price range though.

TTB 44 9". Probably carbed 302. Possibly 351. Way too high priced. I'd say 1500-2000

    That's worth less than $1500.

Broncos are too big. Have him buy a yj.

Didnt read the ad. The 6 sucks. Never going to get better than 8 mpg stock. Slow as balls too.

For reference, I bought this bronco for $200:

    http://www.tamor.org/forums/showthre...tamor+destroys

And it had an 8.8. For wheeling I think the straight 6/manual is a good start, the manual will have something like 6.8 ratio low gear, but like they all said, that is a 1000 to 1500 bronco, not a 3k bronco...
