    Need me a Daysul

Been scouring craigslist and autotrader looking for a truck, but if anyone knows of a truck for sale let me know. I'm willing to drive a couple of hours for the right truck.

    Here's what I'm looking for

    1999-2003 super duty
    -7.3
    -less than 250,000 miles
-Auto or manual, but prefer auto
-cab configuration isn't a big deal but I would like a ext cab short bed
-2wd is perfect, but 4x4 would be ok
    -needs to be clean!
-Don't care about color, as long as it's not burnt orange

    Or

    2005-2007 super duty
    -6.0
    -must be 4x4
    -less than 200,000 miles
-must have cloth or leather, no vinyl

Budget is $7,000 the cheaper the better

No douchey trucks, no trucks with lifts, I want a stock truck.
    Don't want a truck that's been ****ed with, especially if it's a 6.0

There is a white 7.3 ext cab long bed 2wd for sale at Asher Auto on 21, which is next door to the Texas Gun Company place. Has a grill guard. Looks decent from passing by.

    Buy an F-150. Don't be a Sparling.

I had a half ton. It wasn't enough. I had the perfect 3/4 ton truck and some Mexicans took it. What's wrong with buying something because I like it? I don't need to convince myself that something I own is worth having or is needed. I wanted a truck on the verge of being in big gay truck land so i got it.

I was simply suggesting something more reliable than a 200k mile, 14 year old truck. If you want that, go for it. Hopefully he doesn't have to throw all his money and time at it like you have on yours.

Besides the transmissions on 7.3 trucks, they are really reliable. I'd venture to say more so than a 05 5.4 truck. How many transmissions have you been through in dianne? and what about chasing down the ticking noises?

The issue is, Tommy doesn't know what he wants. He says he wants a cheap truck to last him through the rest of college and until he gets a job, then says he wants a 20k 6.4 truck. My thoughts are this:
    1. you cannot afford a 6.4 truck
    2. you cannot afford a 6.0 truck in good enough condition to be worth buying and not having to worry about head gaskets or something else sidelining you
    3. you are looking at the cheapest trucks in each category, and a cheap 7.3 will outlast a cheap 6.0 and a cheap 6.4 especially when you think about the repair bills for the newer trucks if something were to happen.
    4. buy a cheapish 7.3 truck with a 6 speed and it'll last you forever and ever or until you decide what you want or decide you want to narrow it 12 inches.

Also, my truck never fails to get me home, even when the transmission went, I still drove it home.

Really? Really? We've been through this dummy. 1 under natural causes. And it ticks. It's a non issue. Been doing it for past 100k. Ask Chet. Pulled more than that 1 ton has ever thought of pulling. 235k. What are you trying to talk **** about?

Again, not sure why you guys don't get this. You are still wanting to buy a 200k + mile, 14 year old truck just to get what you guys consider an awesome motor. It's not that great. Relax.

Wouldn't hesitate to pull a bronco with Diane to Trees right now. Wouldn't have to get someone to pull it back home for me either!

    Boom

Granted the (04-08s) are more expensive than a ragged out old 7.3, probably for good reason

Last I checked this is 'Merica, get what you want. For 7,000 you won't buy reliability so get something you don't mind working on.
