I have a few more days of this........

Block sanding sucks. I found some small dents that escaped me before the high build primer so I will have to hit those with some glaze and then re-shoot a few patches of high build primer. Then block sand again, one coat of the primer sealer, then three coats of color. This is a single stage - no clear.

How are you drying out your air supply?

Two desiccant filters. The first at the outlet to the compressor tank is a craftsman unit with a particulate filter screen and settling chamber that I fill with desiccant pellets. The second unit is a HB unit that is attached to the base of the spray gun. It is filled with desiccant pellets as well. The desiccant pellets change from blue to pink when they are spent....which is about three refills with the spray gun (20 ounce capacity).

I also drain and refill the tank before each spray session.

Also, I think I remember asking you this before, but did you pull the fenders, hood, doors to cut in the jams with color before shooting the outside?

Ya, I had to. Not enough room in the garage to spray both at the same time.

I haven't gotten to color on the cab yet. The cab is much more work than the bed for reasons like this. Things that can come off will......

Yes, the jams will be painted before the outside body.

I know it will not be perfect but I'm trying to do the best with what time/money/facilities I have available to me.

I get it. A two car garage can fill up pretty quick when painting. You pretty much have to be a paint ninja.

Are you planning on wetsanding and buffing this after you spray it, or just run with it as is?

Why are you not going with a clear coat?

Only if it needs it....I'm hoping not.

The single stage paint from Summit doesn't require a clear coat but they do list it as optional. I'm pretty happy with the results I got on the bed so I guess I don't see a need for the extra work.

I worked on the hood and fender emblems this weekend. It is amazing what a new coat of paint and chrome polishing will do.

I pulled one leaf from the front spring packs and two leafs from the rear packs. It brought the truck down a little more than 1/4 inch in the front and a little more than 1/2 inch in the rear. I can't go any lower with the stock suspension/steering/i-beam.

I finally got the temp gauge working....all the gauges and dash lights now work.....first time since I've owned it and probably in a long time.

Also installed the new horn button and button retainer....neither were there when I bought it.
