    4.0 Engine

SOOO my cherokee finally threw a bearing on the crankshaft after destroying it at down south and it needs a new heart. If someone has a engine that is running well with a low amount of miles let me know. I could just buy a brand new or rebuilt long block and swap parts over, but all that is beyond me....
Let me know what you have, Thanks.

Get a reman long block and swap your parts over. There's some places in houston that have really good prices.

I hope your buddy has a good experience but cooks is pretty well known for shoddy work, I would recommend against using them for anything.

Didn't know that. I'll be reporting back as to how well it was done when he gets it back.

I worked at Cooks for a couple years and I disagree with that.
I say their machine work is good. They use cheap parts (ill give you that) but I guarantee those "cheaper places in Houston" use just as cheap of parts.....

I would be interested to know what parts they are using for the striker kit.

Times have probably changed. I know several shops in the B/CS area wouldn't do business with cooks when I worked at advance. Only thing I ever had done there was some bead blasting and I got my parts back all rusted from them handling it with their hands.

I wouldn't mind getting it rebuilt for the money, but having a fresh engine would be ideal. I would love to do a V8 swap but then I'm taking serious money...

What trans do you have? I think you have to swap bellhousings with a dakota 3.9 v6.

It's a 2000 XJ classic. I believe it has the AW-4 under it. I could be wrong. When I go home this weekend to move it to a friends ranch I'll try and get more information.

Will a '93 work? It runs, no clue on miles but can do burnouts. $300
