    vacuum advance

    ok syptoms:

    set timing idles great.

    reconnect vacuumm advance line idles up and down up and down even died once

    is this my vacumm advance that is messed up or something else. why does it idle ok without the vacuum advance hooked up. is there too much vacuum on the advance??

    I would think that it would either be a vacume leak or that you hvae the vacume line hooked to the wrong port on the TBI. Might want to do a suck test on the vacume advance and see if she is leaking.

    all the home brew TBI conversion writeups I've read say to completely eliminate the vacuum advance and leave it up to the computer. I'm not sure if Howel left the timing control feature on the chips they burn, but if they did, you need to eliminate centrifugal and vacuum advance.

    I'll try to scan the writeups I have of it. I printed them when they were free off www.diyefi.org, now its 20 bucks to get to the tech sections

    it helps when the lines are plugged into the right ports. my bad it runs great now
