Mine was welded with 7018 rods with a DC machine by a professional welder. Not calling myself a professional, but I have a few of them around my shop. It came apart and ate half the teeth off one side gear, and all the teeth off the other. But it hardly damaged the spiders and didn't do anything to the ring and pinion. Now it is welded side gears to spider gears with much more weld, side gears to carrier, and spider gears to carrier. Used 16 rods. I'm not saying that it won't last with it just welded side gear to spider gear, but mine didn't.

Hey check this out, I think they make them specifically for what you guys are trying to do...
    Boats and hoes

Stumble in to the liquor store
With a dollar-fifty for a bottle of wine,
I know just what I'm lookin for
    Thunderbird will do just fine.

I think you'll be ok with that angle. It could probably stand to be steeper, but this way you won't have to worry about inverting it under full droop.

I'd turn the bolts in your shackle around, however. You probably won't hit anything with them, but I'd put the exposed threads inboard just to be safe. I think it looks cleaner, too.

    Nice work, keep it up!

i'll possibly be able to hear the snap of toyota parts all the way in Angel Fire, , but unfortunately I won't be in Cruces w/ ya'll, i'm goin snow skiing, but on the positive side my "wife" will have spring breaks and summers off after we graduate, so we will have time to go then if i can get away

I think I'll be able to hear the moans of a toyota forced to wear Nissan clothes all the way in Hawaii... I'll keep my ears open.
