    Ford 9in. out of a 79 Bronco, 31 spline, 3.55 gears or so, nothing else........$100

    so i guess you decided to keep the 8.8 ... does it have shafts?

    yeah at least for now, I need money. Yes, it has shafts, no brakes though

    i'd think about getting it for parts but i already learned that the diameter of the shafts on the '78 & '79 are different than other years... hence it wouldnt do me no good

    couldn't you transfer the brakes and 3rd member from yours and use his housing and shafts?

    all Ford 31 spline 9" shafts were the same diameter...do you mean they were a different length?

    I think he means the part where the wheel bearing rides. Probably different since ford used a dozen or so bearing configurations, big bearing, medium, small, 80's big bearing, 8.8 bearing,etc.
