    Shocks

Im looking at getting rs9000 series for a good price and was wondering for those of you who know my jeep would 6.375 in. of travel be enough for my front end?, or should i put the longer travel, 8.250 in., shocks on the front?

Not really sure what you mean by those numbers. I think my fronts are 11" travel and they limit it. From the pics, you have a good amount more travel than I do. Procomp makes 15" travel shocks, that's what I'll be using next, $32 each. I think Rancho makes 15"ers too. Just use the longest ones you can get, they're probably all the same price.

I'm running Bilsteins 6100 14" travel shocks... the longest travel rancho's are 12" or so. I think I paid 69 buckls a shock or something... they're supposed to be quite a bit more durable and fade resistant than Ranchos... and from pro-comp's outstanding track record I would imagine their 15" shocks aren't worth the box they come in.

I would suggest you run the longest shock possible, but if jeeps are anything like my bronco it may get interesting mounting them.

I removed all my inner fenders front and rear tonight in order to build tall enough mounts to get optimal travel and dampening out of my new shocks.

if you're getting ranchos, i say get the 5000s. not only are they cheaper but you'll soon realize that you dont use the adjustments THAT much to make it worth it. you can still get the same length shocks in 5000s as you can in 9000s. they are the same p/n w/ a 5 instead of a 9.

I've kept this website around for just such an occasion.

austin is the only one here i agree with... BUT... i advise you differently... i am running the procomp es 3000 with 12" travel... i love em... $30 each... got em set for 6" up and 6" down... centered almost perfectly. you could also go to the james duff website and purchase his 15" shocks for $35 each i believe. all james duff is top Kwality. i am sure doug's shocks are badass, but for $69 each they better come jewel-encrusted or they better service my pee-pee.

Those james Duff shocks are junk... I haven't talked to anyone running them who has even been able to make them live a month.

Adam- they do service my Peepee...

9000's ain't anything special... they have the exact same characteristics as a 5000 set at a 6 I think... besides you'd look goofy crawling around under your rig adjusting those things anyway.
