    axle bearings

I got the seals out easily with the $120 tool from the part store, but the bearing is really damn stuck. it spins in the axle tube, but I can't get it over the lip. I hit is pretty damn hard with the slide hammer too. apparently there's supposed to be a race in there somewhere, but it looks to me like there's just the seal and the bearing. I've only done one side so I'm going to pull apart the other side and see if I can figure anything out. maybe it will be easier. oh, I I found a nice hunk of metal in the side I've already disassembled, but that was the only one in there so far (got to use my telescoping magnet with a light on the end that I got for christmas). any input would be appreciated seeing as how this is obviously the first time I've taken my rear axle apart.

Is this on your rear axle meaning the one under your truck? Or the one in the garage?

If it's the one you welded, you may have a little problem
