    Different kind of shop talk....

I missed the races, but I did get to see the cars this morning. The cars of the one lap of america race. Thanks Jimmy for the heads up. It was pretty damn cool. Not every day that you see a blown BMW 7series, a Festiva with a SHO engine, a Datsun with Bug hybrid fenders, a Volvo with a Paxtoned SB, or a Diablo with a trailer hitch.

You mean the Texas World Speedway on the outskirts of town. It was the One Lap of America deal. There were quite a few really cool cars including a Plymouth Valiant that was pulling about 160mph in the straightaway.

look for my writeup whan I get the new webpage online, whenever that is... It was "wicked pissah" Vipers, corvettes,bmw's,audis,rx-7's, lambos, no ferraris, but there was a s10 blazer with an entire corvette drivetrain, including the front and rear independent suspension, also a ford ranger with a roots blown ford small block in it. The valiant with the dueling nitrous tanks in the trunk was my fav behind the 63 grand sport corvette. He would hit the nitrous in the straights, and run near the top speed of the vipers, it was insane. He also had yellow fenders while the rest of the car was green due to a crash into the tire walls the day before in albuquerque. he fixed the whole front end and made it to college station in time to race, pretty damn impressive. Lots of cool **** and a really good time. check out the website, I hope the grand sport catches the viper before it is all over, that would be really cool if a 63 corvette beats a race prepped factory backed viper...
