    AOD short tail

A friend needs an AOD for a 4x2 ford. Cheap.
I was also thinking that if he could find a 4x4 with tcase and rear driveshaft (x-cab, shortbed), it might bolt up and he could run it without a front driveshaft until I convince him to put a front axle under it.
Either way, key word is "cheap"

i wouldnt want to get a cheap aod chances are it aint gonna be worth anything, and if he finds one if its got over a hundred thousand miles on it you might as well get it rebuilt cause thsoe tranny are notorious for dying arond that spot.
He who dies with the most **** wins, after seeing your collection you are in the lead no doubt!

mine just took a shat this past weekend on the way home....

i would never put a used automatic transmissionin a vehicle with out a rebuild, especially if i had no idea how many miles were on it or the abuse it has seen. i am paying somewhere between 750-950 for mine rebuilt and installed....id do it myself but 3 hours is a long way to drive to pull it and then come back and go back again to install it. also this way it has a 12 mo/12000 mile warrenty...

unless you are trained in auto's, you cant open and inspect one like you can with a standard.

i think mines getting ready to shat. it revs up real high before it catches 2nd.

Think that mazda 5 speed would be at least as strong as an aod?
