Why did Greg send it to Avalanche if their work was just going to get torn back apart by his friends?

We were able to drive it out of the shop tonight (Sunday) after making the coilover mounts. Looks good, it still needs two more corner braces and the mount for the shoulder harnesses. It also needs to be TIG'ed up, it's all just tacked together...

It was not up to par for competitions.
    The rules say:
must have at least one crossbar behind the seats (not on Poison Spider cage)
must have vert and horiz braces on all four corners of the halo (didn't have)
must have a halo over the drivers head (didn't have)
must have a spreader bar in middle of the windshield area (didn't have)
must have door bars (didn't have)
must have a "roof" (didn't have)
Go to UROC.com if you wan to read all of the specs...

Also, the seats were layed back at like 45 degrees so that your head wouldn't stick thru the top. We made that cage about 5" taller than the old one for Troy's head. We used 1.75 * .095 SEAMLESS DOM chromolly...

All in all, the old cage SUCKED - looked good but SUCKED...

So is a halo better than a normal hoop style cage? I was planning on going with hoops but the halo would be just as easy, or easier.
