you should...a set of deep sockets and a set of short ones. Find the deep one that fits inside your pilot bearing, then find the short one that fits inside the splines in your clutch disk, then wrap duct tape around half of the deep one until it fits tightly inside the short one...voila! Clutch alignment tool!
Edited: cuz I said press. plate fingers instead of clutch disk splines
they are only like 3-5 bucks at the store. I have one from my scout you are welcom to try.
1. What kind of half ass clutch did you buy that doesn't come with one?
2. I was going to say that I do, but I'd much rather you buy one for $3 than for me to have to dig through my garage.
Seriously, I think I have one laying around somewhere, but I'd have to look. Let me know if you can't find one.
The disco ball in my mouth, insinuates I'm ballin'
Sweet. I just noticed I can say ass now. Ass. Ass. Ass. Ass. Ass. Ass. Ass. Ass. Ass.
I feel like Cartman.

maybe he's subscribed to the "Ugly School of Auto Repair and Being a Cheapass", where you pull the truck apart then start rummaging through the garage comparing the shiny-slick clutch disk that you just took out to all the "not so bad" ones you have laying around.
we put a used fuel filter on Feller's truck the other day
one of those cheapass centerforce clutches.
The clutch is about the same size as the pressure plate. Put the pressure plate on loose enough that you can still move the clutch with a screw driver or such. Then all you gotta do is feel the difference in size of those two and make that difference the same all the way around. Then tighten bolts.
Hey, I have no problem using cheap or used stuff, if it works. Its still not as bad as you using the the dremel to resurface the flywheel.Originally Posted by uglyota
