Your XJ coils are the same diameter (or very close to it) as the Ford ones... Use them if you can, or buy XJ lift coils. Those EB coils aren't going to be matched very well too your upper coil buckets since Ford uses a different upper coil attachment style.

Yeah, they have the top coil bent around so the retaining nut can keep them in place. Jeep coils are round at the top so they will fit around the bumpstop post, which also serves to keep the coils from overextending and falling off.

everybody who's anybody in the early bronco world will swear by wild horses coils. the benefit they have over the superlift ones you saw is that they're variable rate/dual rate coils. if you look at 'em you can see the top springs are closer together than the lower 2/3 of the spring. that top part will extend, extend, extend and give you all the flex you ever need, while the bottom compresses well and absorbs all up travel. most of the work therefore is done by the bottom 2/3. i think using the Ford coil towers with some type of radius arm setup will be a lot less work than fabbing buckets to put on the 44 for XJ coils, and setting up a 4 link. the buckets tate has would be off an `80 or `84 (old frame and new frame) and will work w/ the old style coils (`78-79). 7* bushings will be too much. i've always thought my front axle was pointed a little high w/ 7* bushings and i've got ~8" lift from the SAS. he wont be anywhere near that high. i definately think brett brought up a good point about bracing/reinforcing the unibody/subframe. look into how other people have done it. hurry up and start some work before you turn into the next chadnutz.

get a reputable exhaust shop (I'd recommend mcallister's) to route your tailpipe forward to your engine bay and then use hi-temp neoprene sleeves to connect this to the top of the carb.
this will result in a "closed loop" system that keeps your system free of water and other contaminants, decreases noise, and reduces emissions
    ...drastically
