    chevy drivers drop?

    when did chevy go to drivers drop on the trucks?

    i think it was when the IFS came out. so what, 1988? i think thats the first year of the new body style for the 1/2 tons

    correct solid axle were passenger, and ifs are driver drop

    Echo of above. Half and 3/4 ton pickups switched to ifs and driver's side drop cases in 88, 1 ton pickups, blazers and suburbans switched to ifs in 92. If it matters to you, there seem to be alot of 1 tons running around in regular cab and extended cab versions with the newer body style but all crewcabs I've seen up to 91 had the old body so the line is kinda hazy in that area.
