Knock knock, who is there? Oh it's just me TTB checking in, I have a 44 center section and rocked these 37's without ever breaking a shaft...

If you're single traction beam 44 can't handle the 37's you should do a TTB swap!

Disclaimer, this 44 has some sort of locking mechanism in it, so it is not an apples to apples comparison, but still TTB rules!

I think if anything those 37's would be easier on the axles than those big wide 35's that are on there now. You just have to be conscious that you can't get pissed off and crank the wheel hard and hammer down.

I don't like mtr's an had no problems destroying front shafts in Clayton or katemcy with 35" bfg's. That being said, it's not my truck!

People run 37s on 44s all the time. People also kill Dana 60 shafts with 35s. It all comes down to driver and luck sometimes. Just keep spares around.

The IH 345 V8 weighs 750ish lbs. That's heavier than a Big Block Chevy. Hang that over the front 44 and 35" tires kind of become the upper limit on tire size, unless you just really like changing broken shafts.

So what Fred is saying is, a 5.3 swap is also in order.

Sam cant even hook up jumper cables. If he does a 5.3 swap it will probably have a Q-jet and distributor on it!

I thought this thing had some nice fat manly tires on it last I saw. I would take dry rotted TSLs over MTRs in most situations. That dry rot is just on the surface, burn them a little and new rubber will be exposed.
