    more pics contintued
a pic of a twisted axle...pretty impressive amount of twist for these dinky things, and a pic of the mighty land rover 4 spline pinion. I had never seen a four-spline pinion. I guess it takes the guess work out of synchronizing the yokes...50/50 chance. a pic of an old locking hub sticker on the winshield. a pic of the frame...now that is what you call a boxed frame. the frame rails are about 3 1/2 inches wide and 8 inches tall in the tranny area.

the body structure is super light. it ALL aluminum except or the cappings and inner door frames. The bulkhead (firewall) is steel also.
The frame on the othe hand is a big heavy SOB.

a door w/ glass probably weighs 20 lbs. my metal full doors w/ glass probably weigh less than jeep half doors.

I also discovered that someone has done some repairs on the RH rear qtr. All the rivets in that qtr are pop-rivets which aren't LR spec. LR uses button heads on all their stuff. I guess I'll by one of those Harbor Freight riveters and see how it works.

    ...and eight link is stronger.

Coilovers or coils and shocks seperate? I would think that there isn't much real estate for anything but a coilover. I think of the ORD blazer as a good three link front to follow. Leaves for the rear would make sense as long as the spring rate and rear-sprung weight is well matched.

I like this truck. It makes me want to build a diesel Landy.

you and Grayson should collaborate, you are probably the only two in this club that think a 6.2 in there is a good idea!

I think the coilovers would be cool. Kinda like that late model rover someone posted a pic of a while back that had the coilovers and hoops sticking through the hood.
