Finally got a chance to post a few pics from the Scout's Memorial Day shakedown run.
Poseur pic:
Sunday Cruise:
Highlight (lowlight?) of the weekend. My buddy Josh Kurtz's K5. D60/14 bolt, 44" Boggers, Vortech 350...and a ruptured brake line do not make for a good time. Fortunately no one was hurt:
Yeah, I was very pleased for the first time out. Only issues were with the front wheels, a leaky fitting on my hyrdo reservoir, and my trans temp guage pics up heat from my exhaust...either that, or my trans gets REAL hot, REAL fast for no reason at all.
Turns out lug centric wheels and hub centric hubs don't mix. Who'da thunk it?
EDIT: Best part about the K5 was he hammered the roof up and drove it half the weekend like that. He's thinking S-10 cab, exocage, and back half it.

Nah, I just need to bore the openings out a 16th or so and I should be in good shape.
wow, good pics Andy. Looks like it turned out well. So where are the pics of Diya driving "her" Scout?
She'll get some driving time in Hot Springs, but it won't be "her" Scout until I finish "my" CJ.Originally Posted by Jackasic

Time to update. I thought I had finished the front coil swap, but I'm not happy with the bump stops/coil guides, so those are getting junked...and I'm way too short. I need to go up 5" from where the front is now (7" from where is was with the 39.5s) to fit the new tires. The good news is I'll have more compression than I did with leaves, the bad news is it's taller. Anyway, pics.

As it sits now:
Sorry about the pic quality, I did something wrong when I re-sized. Anyway, in the last pic the springs are 12", and I need them to be 17". The biggest problem is in the rear, where even after trimming the fenders out as much as possible I am still way to low. I think it will be fine when it's all said and done, I'll be wider than I was before also due to the width of the new tires.
Speaking of which, I'll be running 44" TSLs up front and 44" Boggers in the rear. I'll be grooving all of them, so it should be fun.
Stay tuned!
BTW, I killed my R&P in my front axle (HP D60) last time out a Gilmer. We were running Fun Country backwards, and I'm pretty sure I did it on the climb out. It was wet, so I was in the throttle a bit.
