I'm not really sure what he's looking for. But the scout will be down here tomorrow so I'll be sure to look it over and double check with you guys to see if you have parts he needs before he buys anything.

Sounds good. I talked to Jimmy a bit at the meeting the other night. I guess I'll give him a call.
My roommate is looking for the following parts:
-door parts( windows, regulators, panels, arm rests..... All he has is the shell)
-glove box
-cheap lift (I say spring over)
I'm sure theres plenty more he'll need but it wont be here till the morning
springover is cheap minus the steering part. There are definitely some cheap ways to do that part, but as flem would say, "That's not how I'd do it" give me a call before next weekend on the 3rd member: 214-732-1819 Thanks.

What are ya'll opinions on spring-overs? I know they'd be cheaper than a regular lift kit, but do ya'll think its worth while just to stay spring under.
What are the pros/cons of this setup?

a soa is more work than lift springs but it can be done cheaper. stock springs are softer so they give a better ride and more flex. more ground clearance under the axles. while your at it, do an reverse shackle and it'll ride better and you're less likely to bend front main leaves. soa gives you about 6" lift vs 4" with lift springs. if its a trail only rig you can do an soa with little fab work, but if its gonna be a DD it needs castor correction which is labor intensive.

Hes just looking for a hunting rig with a bit of a lift, but i'm working on perswading him to get into wheeling. I'll be sure to bring him along on the next trip and he'll be hooked.
Then tell him to wait till he comes on a trip and talks to some of our scout weirdos before he spends any money
