    would a junkyard truck motor work like whats in my truck? just seems like that would be a somewhat cheap route. but you said new - why new? keep from machining costs etc? badass btw.

    I want to take my crank/rods/pistons/cam and put them in another block. If I were to get a used one it would probably need to be honed or whatever at least. If I go to the trouble of getting a used motor, I'll just buy a rebuilt short block. By the time I located a used one and had it redone it'd be as much as buying a rebuilt short block. I guess a lightly used bare block might work, but I'd rather start with a new one.
