    lift pics

    finally able to get up the pics of my lift. its a rancho lift, mt classic lock wheels, and dick cepeck radial fc-2's

    i left them at my dad's in ftw. they were in great shape, had alot of tread left. you wanna make an offer?

    real good. they are fairly aggressive, yet not too loud. balanced real easy, and ride real straight.

    what size lift 4 in and 33's? or 6 and 35? looks good

    rancho calls it a 4", but one of their reps was talkin to my dad(he works for painless performance so he gets some inside info) and the guy said that is because of the lift laws in some states, but if you measure how much it drops the lower a-arms its 6". yea they're 35's

    had to replace a couple u joints so i figgured while everything was in pieces would be a good time.

    edit: forgot to explain why torching. chevy started using a plastic that they melt and inject into a couple grooves instead of c-clips. the replacements just went on with normal c-clips.

    Yeah, they've been doing that since sometime in the 80's on the aluminum driveshafts. I've heard you have to heat them, but I didn't want to heat the yokes on the aluminum that much. I heated mine just a little, but then just pressed them out. The plastic breaks and they press right out..no heat required.

    really didnt take much heat and the plastic just melted and popped out. flared up a couple times, pretty cool.
