    Ford 9" Code

I have an extra 9", but I have no idea what gears are in it. If anyone can speak Fordeneese please translate this for me, the tag reads exactly as follows:

    GB AB1 9AB
    47 9 461B
    -Karl
    2006 Chevy K3500 4X4 - No J.B. Weld on it yet!
1982 thru 94 F-Series "The Klogger" AKA Transport on the road, on the trail, or on the trailer!
    1965 Chevelle
    1975 Corvette

Never mind, just looked again and noticed a 2 in front of the 47, so it is a 2.47 rear ratio, which translates from fordeneese to completely useless in the real world

try going from 4.11's in a 8.8 with 35's to a 9" with 2.72's and 35's....this change yields ~90 at ridiculously low RPMs in OD....that and lack of power...

I swapped in a set of 2.73's after I broke the third member up in Clayton, switching from 4.11's to the 2.73's let me use a tank less gas on the way back!!!!
