Wow, lots of conversation. I really like the shaved look. I don't really care if it's totally legal. It will likely have antique plates on it (at least that's the plan), so I won't have to deal with all of the inspection issues. I could do LEDs inside the fenderwell or somewhere hidden if I have to. We'll see.

It's not going to be a 442 clone. I really don't see the need. The only reason I'm thinking that grille is because of the looks of it. It's recessed quite a bit and it has a finer mesh to it. I'm still thinking about it though.

The hood also. I had been planning on a fiberglass hood with the scoops, but I'm not so sure now. The stock front hood lines are pretty cool actually. I did almost buy a red on white convertible 442 when I was looking though. Just weren't quite ready to buy at that point. I'm kind of glad I have black interior though.

The engine is probably something that I will come back to. It currently runs. I'll probably do the work on the body, suspension, and interior first and come back to the engine since it's going to be a hella big $$ part of the project. Probably nearly double the overall cost of the project. I saw a twin turbo Chevelle. So fine. No idea on costs for something like that though.

The 6 speed sounds even better. Not sure how necessary it is, but it sounds better. Will have to weigh against costs and useage.

20 & 24? That's HUGE alright. Would they even fit, assuming the air ride drop? Some of the guys recommended 40 or even 45 series tires for all purpose use (on 18/20 combo). Thoughts on that? I hear you on the forge and it makes sense. Where should I look for them? (which companies) I really know very little about this whole scene now. Cragar Super Drags were the tits the last time I worked on this rig.

    Thanks guys.

    1. Depends on how much better 2006 is over 2005. But even if I had it, I probably wouldn't spend it on that. It doesn't have to be the fastest thing on the street.

    2. Sorry I missed it. I did however find the link to the Overhaulin episode: http://www.overhaulin.com/gallery46.aspx?season=3

    3. I could do that. Sounds super fly. Any pics of an A-body car with that size wheels? (24/20)

as u can tell I really like multi-piece wheels. those are just a few I could think of that are of the highest quality. but lots of the major wheel makers have a forged line of wheels now for suvs so it's getting more popular.
