Why would he leave this rig ON the trailer in a storage facility?!?!?!

It is a lot harder to drag / push / hotwire a vehicle that doesn't want to move onto a trailer than it is to snap off a trailer lock and take off with a trailer who's load is already secured, etc...

he needed to store the trailer too...
I would bet he was paying lots of money to keep the rig in what he thought was a high-end storage facility where he wouldn't have to worry about something like this happening. I would have thought he would have sprung for an enclosed unit though

    Hal's response:

I forgot to mention usually I keep it in an enclosed trailer. But I didn't have the correct keys, so we dropped the littler trailer with the buggy into the spot for 1-day. It was taken in less than 24-hours. I realize I did lots of stuff wrong, and feel really ****ty about it, trust me.

his experience with the cops is disgusting (though not surprising). Here's a very distinctive $100,000+ vehicle with all kinds of leads and the cops won't even talk to the people at the storage unit, let alone talk to the person to whom the Excursion is registered. Could the cops not force access into every unit in the facility?

Glad to see that pirate is staying true to form with e-promises of beatings and holes in the desert. How many people promised to maim or kill Wenzel again? Is he out of the hospital yet?

    So true...

It is good to see that people care and that the 4wd community as a whole is tight nit.

general is good for getting a lot of eyes out there, but there's nothing like chit chat for spending company time running recon

It would be something if the vanity plates they left were from the perp's excursion...
