    off-road suspension references

i just reminded myself why i hate pirate so much. i did a backdoor search for 4 link stuff and read over some threads. the guys that get on there and try to sound like they know what they are talking about and the arguements over simple engineering principles are more than i can handle. i dont like trying to learn something i dont know much about and having to sort through tons of BS at the same time. i tired some other on-line forums as well and found pretty much the same thing. i feel ike im in 6th grade again learning about sex from my peers.

does anyone know of any good off-road suspension references? preferrably in print so as to validate them. ive read several good race suspension design books but ive never seen an off-road one. is the sport still too young to be documented? st. john?

pirate is probably the best you are going to find. It's a pain in the ass, but just sift through the crap. There are a couple of guys that know what they are talking about. One of them is a guy from australia, I can't remember his name at the moment, but I think he has a cruiser of some sort.

Some people spout theory, some spout experience, and some do both...

thats a good idea. if you know any of the names of the guys that actually know what they are talking about post them up.

ive seen several guys that just learn solid works, draw a solid model and regurgitate what they heard elsewhere. its really annoying.

btw, what happened to the search on pirate?

I think they had problems with the search either slowing down the board or locking up the board. Are you using google?

Google seems to work much better in some cases.

Search on pirate is working but it's only available to red and yellow star members now.

Triaged is the name of the guy that created that Excel four link calculator....he seems to know alot about how it works. If I remember any other names I'll let ya know.

I don't know if you found the four link calculator or not, but if not I can email a copy to you.
