    Ever heard of a golf TDI? Its more like 50 mpg. You can get a used one for not too much as well.

    Yes, and parts for them cost stupid amounts of money. Amanda's parents looked into getting her one when gas prices were jacked up last summer but they couldnt justify the innitial cost.

    Mazdas do well too. My gf's 4 banger 6 gets about 25 city and 30+ highway.

    Emily's civic gets 38 when she's driving (25-30 when I drive...I like Vtec)
    That's a 2004 EX (bigger motor)

    I know the EX had a bigger motor than the other models, but it was the only way to get ABS

    As gay as this argument is, i think you are wrong. Honda only changes levels of interior betw the dx, lx, and ex. The si had a bigger motor. Edmunds, agrees with my findings.

    The accord changed motors betw levels but I dont think the civic did.
