    Rubicon Cleanup

First trip of the year to the Rubicon, we went to try and cleanup any fallen trees and direct water flow off the trail so the econazi's don't have any reason to complain. Overall it was a good trip, we could only make it to Miller Lake which is about a quarter of the way into the trail (took an entire day). I would highly recommend everyone to try and make a trip out here for it and soon, the trail is in serious jeopardy of closure.

I badly wan't to do the Rubicon before it goes bye-bye. Nick, give us some maps or an idea of where the trail starts and ends so we can look at drive times & dream a bit.
    Thanks,

You would enter in around Georgtown, CA and exit Homewood, CA. I think its about a 30-34 hour drive from San Antonio. Since this was the first of the trail cleanups of the season there wasn't to many although next weekend it will probably be packed. Here is a great website to get aquainted with what its all about, take some time and read through it, there is tons of info on it. Also, for a trip out here, the Fordyce Creek which is another 2-3 day trail is about 30 minutes from the Rubicon exit. In between is north Lake Tahoe with some of the old skool casinos from the rat-pack era, could make for a great time. Its definately a trip that would be worth while but will suck some money in the process, that is unless you win at the casinos
