steering. wouldn't use TRE's on suspension personally.

nah, im gonna be busy today, but i figured this would be an active thread since some people are so passionate about heims. i personally like TRE's for the same reason cody stated plus they are greasable.

now if you dont have anything productive to say, get off my thread hippie.

I went with TRE's for my steering cause I figured if the manufacturers though TRE's are better, then they probably are.

and you can get greasable heims, but they suck...good ones have teflon. You already know you're gonna use TREs. You trying to join the chadnutz/robbie club?

okay, my impression is that if you are going to have crazy amounts of flex and your steering will need to accomodate large amounts of misalignment, you should go for heims at the expense of having to keep an eye on your steering and check the tighness of the joints and the bolts. Billavista did a writeup on heims and rod ends I think, read that and let us know what you find.
My experience is that cheap heims suck and wear out quickly. My first set got super sloppy in like 10,000 miles, and replacing (2) with expensive teflon ones made a world of difference.

Drag link ends have alot more misalignment than TRE's, why not use them if you need more travel?

hmm, good point there robert. I went w/ TRE instead of something w/ heims because on the street the TRE will last a lot longer and they stay tight

in my head at least, TRE is a generic term for OEM style joints. which technically, would be TRE on the the tie rod and DLE on the drag link. so yeah...

I run heims on my drag link with no problems so far, but I do agree that tre's are alot easier on the maintenance side of things.

still it's not as much as a heim with misalighnment spacers. I think either way can work good, you just can't buy 10$ hiems.
