I can't dynamat the firewall. I didn't want to drive a diesel around at 2600 RPM. I'd rather get 16.75 mpg and be quieter with less wear than get 14.5 mpg and have some of the noise blocked by a hundred or so lbs of dynamat.

Trust me, I considered everything. The thing now is that I used to equate speed with noise. Now I pass some jack ass going less than the speed limit in the fast lane only to look down and see my speedo pegged and I'm only at 2200 RPM. It's great.

How well do you think it will tow set up like this, or do you not plan on towing?
    Boats and hoes

Stumble in to the liquor store
With a dollar-fifty for a bottle of wine,
I know just what I'm lookin for
    Thunderbird will do just fine.

    Honestly, guys....

How many times do I have to state the my 4th gear is exactly like 5th used to be and I only towed in 5th?

    Old 5th ======= New 4th
Old tow gear ========= New tow gear

I'd imagine that I could swing towing the Mazda in 5th if I was going 80.

If I was on level ground I would start in 2nd pulling the Mazda. Anything more was first.

I don't know why you guys get your panties in a wad about 3.08s on a stock hieght 32" tire truck pulling one vehicle with a 16 ft trailer when others pull 2 rigs on a gooseneck with 3.55s and 35s...

Diesels aren't meant to run around at high RPM. That's the beauty of them.

P.S. Scott..I'm not talking trash. I'm just saying that our situations aren't that much different and we are doing just fine..

i was just curious - i want to run 37s on my truck or drop to a 4.10 with 35s so that i am just over 2000 at 75. I will see how it feels with 35s and 4.56s and go from there...

I have progressive and I think after they did the multiple vehicle discount it added $17/mo to add the ugly truck
I am pretty sure that you can get scrood in a big way if you crash the f350 and your insurance finds out that you drive it every day and the Mazda almost never. That's fraud and maybe perjury, depending on the document you signed

Right up there with all of the other discounts they gave me without even asking... Home theft system monitored... vehicle anti-theft systems... 25 y/o... etc.

Which old ag is it that has a 78 Bronco as his primary and a 2000 or so Super Duty (that was stolen) that he really drives? Go chomp his ass.

I would if he started a thread about trying to save money daily driving a 1-ton
why do you even have the Mazda insured? Don't you trailer it?
you guys have some issues if it's that big a deal to drive a car that's the same size or smaller than everybody else's

What part of "I don't want a ****ing third POS vehicle right now" don't you understand, and why is it such a crime to try to get better milage with what I've got even if it is a one ton? I HAVE to have the truck to enjoy my hobby. I don't HAVE to have a small car to do anything. I HAVE to have insurance on the Mazda to navigate around Clayton and I'd rather not trailer it 5 miles down the road to the den, thanks.
