Yes its a diesel. I think they're about 185 hp and 350 tq or so, you can look it up if you want. The trucks are 88 and 90. They'd be about a grand each depending on the current condition.

you can put a big shifter on an auto...do the buses have air brakes? don't know if they were prevelant back then. if so, you have your air system. if not you may be able to salvage a system off a newer bus and swap front and rear axles drum to drum. It would give you much better braking plus plenty of air for your bags. just add an additional tank for capacity.

edit: just buy a running example w/ air brakes for $1500 and swap bodies/ chop shorten frame.

At First That Seems Like A Bigger Project But If You Really Think About It It Could Be About The Same, Plus You Have Something Fairly Easy To Find Parts For Mechanically. All The Drivetrain Is Done

Better yet, get a rear engine bus then put your regular body on it. We use the space in the front clip for storage of kegs/a smoker/hot tub...the list is truly endless!
    Boats and hoes

Stumble in to the liquor store
With a dollar-fifty for a bottle of wine,
I know just what I'm lookin for
    Thunderbird will do just fine.

    that is an excellent idea!

David where are you going to tailgate at? If you're looking at getting an RV spot I'd sign up as soon as possible. They have a long waiting list, a couple years if I remember correctly. I can get you the info if you need it.

I think the plan was to park it at Antonio's tailgating spot.

    Sounds good.

For parking, I've had 3 good offers for spots. Everything from old army behind the scoreboard to outside of a tent. Build it and they will want it to come!

Now I can't stop this train. I have two other free offers on busses. All are 1000+ miles away. How about one free CLOSE bus instead?!?!

Oh well. Leaving out tomorrow morning for A-town, then home, then up to Cowtown. John Cox is coming down to Austin. Anyone else interested in tagging along, let me know.
The disco ball in my mouth, insinuates I'm ballin'
