You don't wanna build that. Pull the motor and tranny and sell them, then haul that pile for scrap

you could easily get a couple hundred for the motor and the efi stuff to someone with a cj that wants to swap, or atleast the head and exhause manifold, thats a 40 hp bolton to a 4.2

no he can tell you however that you dont want that bologna and cheese sandwich, you should sell the bologna to javier, list the cheese on ebay, and throw away the rest.

maybe that was a little harsh. How about this:
Tommy, you'll quickly find the limitations inherent in building an xj, especially one with a tweaked unibody. The body of the vehicle you build is of very little importance when you are considering custom suspension and axles, and a real frame gives you many more options when it comes to setting up the suspension. Besides, look how many people in this club have built trail-only xjs and still think they're a great platform:
Ben Johnson: nice jeep, looks good, performs pretty well, still trying to figure out how to go bigger than 33" BFG MTs
    Clayton: ummmm
Jason Kelly: pretty nice jeep, lots of issues, I know it wheeled but I didn't wheel back then so I don't know what issues it had
St John: um, most of the sheetmetal's still there
I think XJs make a good DD/wheeler, but there are many better choices for a dedicated wheeler

and I just had half a fish burrito from La Bodega. You should do the same

This is only gonna be a temp rig until i get out of school and get a job where i can afford more. Like i said before i dont have any money into this thing yet, I dont plan on putting all that much into it. I mainly want it so i can go play without worrying about bashing my truck all up. If i lay this on the side no biggy, if i did it to my truck then i would be pissed. The unibody on this thing is not tweaked, i measured it from one side to the other, the only thing that got hurt was cosmetic crap like sheet metal.

You got the right plan Tommy. You're only going to run your brothers old 32" M/T's anyway, it's really not that big of a project to take on. I say go for it and beat the living piss out of it until you graduate and make some money to build a badass rig.

BTW-Let me know when you go back home to work on it, I'll lend a hand.
