Dana 44 is not 1 ton. Is it 8 lug? Are the hubs internal, or are they external with the bolts that hold them on like your CJ? There are a whole shatload of things it could be from. It could be a 77-79 chevy d44, or a d44 with 10 bolt 8 lug outers on it, or a d44 with ford or dodge 8 lug outers on it, or a complete 8 lug axle from a dodge. It would be easiest if you could find the person that put the axle under there to ask. But if you can't, take the brake parts you need to replace to your favorite parts store at a time they are not busy, and start checking. I'd start with a 85 chevy k20.

seems like you could somehow id the axle a little bit at least instead of just looking at every brake pad option they have.

pics? BJ or KP? high or low pinion? close or open knuckle? sure its a 44 front? etc....

I tried drivetraindepot.com, but no go. That's where I've been able to I.D. alot of misc. axle parts, but yours came up with nothing.

BTW-You have any pics of the K5?

this post was by bcolman it is my little brother brian, and the guy said that he swapped in 1 tons, the rear is a D70 but the front is a 44 anyway it is open nuckle, external locking hubs by warn, and 8 lug, i will get the wms later but i think it is chevy, the rear is supposed to be from a dually. Ive been trying to get ahold of the guy about the parts but he is being shady so i don't know all of what he did. And the blazer is Brians all that i have are the rail and jeep right now

External hubs narrows the search a little. Try a 76 chevy k20, that'll probably do it. Those outers only came on a chevy from 75-76. Ford ran external hubs also in the mid 70s.

The warn hubs are crap. Try to find a pair of the huge spicer hubs. I should have 2 pairs with bad dials and a pair of drive flanges for that axle somewhere.
